OUR COMMUNITY - Teddington Society

 teddington society

The Teddington Society was formed in 1973 by a group of local residents whose wish it was to preserve the character of the town and support local community projects. This remains the aim of the Society today. An executive committee meets each month to discuss any changes that might have been proposed and/or improvements that might be implemented to protect or enhance Teddington.

There are six working groups, which, between them, look at most aspects of the quality of life in Teddington. These are Historical Research, Planning, Riverside and Open Spaces, Roads and Transport, Tidy Group and Trees and Gardens.

A quarterly newsletter, Tidings, is prepared and distributed to members of the Society, giving reports from the groups, news items of local interest (historical and current) and details of local events.

In addition a programme of events is organised including talks in the winter and, during the summer months, outings to historic houses and museums.
