St Mary with St Alban

This year’s Happening began with prayers in the Parish Hall, led by Rev Rosamond McDowell.  A bouquet was presented to Lesley Alexander, who with her stalwart team of helpers from Sunday School past and present has done so much over the years to make the Happening such a popular event.  This was Lesley’s last Happening, and she hopes that her successor will get as much enjoyment from organising it as she herself has done.

After a picnic lunch the hall became a hive of activity, with various crafts including egg-cup painting, Easter bonnet and stained-glass window making, cookie decorating and origami, just to mention a few.

Then it was time to return to the church for the final part of the Three Hours Devotion.  With Rev Rosamond in charge, the children processed around the church through the stations of the cross, playing the parts of Jesus, Mary, Pilate, Simon, Veronica and a very small Centurion, to finish another very successful Happening
