The Sunday School meets most Sundays in term-time. Children up to 11 years
old come to us to worship God, learn Bible stories and explore the Christian
faith within a relaxed and family friendly environment. Parents are welcome
to help out.
Our thriving Sunday School now has 100 children on the register and divides
into the following age groups - Scramblers (Reception & Year 1), Climbers
(Years 2, 3 and 4) and Explorers (Years 5 & 6). There also a creche and a
Mini Sunday School. We start at 9.45 in church with our families, before
processing out after the second hymn. Each class explores the theme for the
Sunday through Bible reading and craft, as well as drama and music. The
whole Sunday School has a short closing session when we say prayers and
celebrate each child's birthday. We rejoin the Family Communion service in
time to join our families at communion, after which the Vicar invites
children to present their work. Special events include a Good Friday
workshop, a summer outing and the Christingle Nativity play.
We register each child and all Sunday School teachers are CRB checked.
Children are guided safely between the church and the parish hall using high
visibility jackets and 'lollipops'.
