The Christmas services at St Mary with St Alban are an opportunity for everyone to put the true meaning of Christmas at the heart of their celebrations at this time of year.
Nov 27 - Christmas Bazaar
Dec 12 - Christingle Service 3pm in the hall
This takes place in the parish hall and features a simple traditional play, acted out by members of the Sunday School, to convey the message of Christmas.
All children attending the celebration receive a Christingle.
All Sunday School children have been given candle-shaped collection boxes for the Children's Society to bring back on 6th December full of coins and the collection on the day will also go to the Children’s Society.
Also if anyone has a Children’s Society collecting box that is getting full, Anthea Bryan will be very glad to receive them at the Christingle service on the 6th December or they can be left in church. Thank you very much to everyone who contributes.
Dec 14 - St Mary's with St Peter's School carol service 6pm
Dec 15 - Newland House pre-prep school carol service at 11am
Carols at Costa Coffee, Broad Street at 3pm and Royal British Legion Carol Service
with Scouts and Guides at 7pm.
Dec 16 - Collis School carol service 7pm
Dec 19 - Nine Lessons and Carols 6.30pm
This is a special service of traditional carols and lessons with the orchestra accompanying the choir in the candlelit church. It is followed by mulled wine and mince pies in the parish hall in Langham Road.
Dec 24 - Crib Services 3.30pm
This is a popular service of familiar carols, prayers and stories, lasting about 45 minutes, and is particularly suitable for families with young children.
Dec 24 - Crib Services 5pm
The same service is repeated at 5.00pm due to popular demand.

The First Communion of Christmas - 11.30pm
This is a traditional service where the First Communion of Christmas is celebrated.
Dec 25 - Family Service and Holy Communion 9.45am
At this family communion service with carols, children are welcome to bring and show one of their smaller presents to the congregation.
Dec 26 - Holy Communion 8 and 9.45am
